The Workshop
Posted on February 17, 2011
Saturday I hosted Powerhouse Studios’ first ever Photo Basics Workshop. I’ve got to admit being pretty nervous beforehand, since I’m not so much a get up in front of people and talk kind of girl. But it was so much fun!
I was so lucky to get to spend the morning with these seven amazing ladies, talking photography until our hearts were content! We learned about ISOs, shutter speeds, and apetures, and I loved watching their faces as they began to understand how their cameras worked. The best part has been the e-mails I’ve been getting this week that include pictures they’ve been able to take since, saying, “I never thought I’d be able to take a picture like this!” I love it!
The ironic thing? I didn’t really take any pics throughout the day. Go figure! They’ll probably kill me for posting this incredibly last minute, impromptu pic, but I am just so thankful for each of these women who trusted me enough to be a part of this workshop! There’s been talk of another workshop in the future, so if you missed this one, stay tuned.

2011 Photography Basics Workshop
Posted on December 23, 2010

I’m happy to announce that after a couple years of being asked, I have finally put together a photography workshop for those who want to learn how to use their DSLR. This workshop is perfect for the mom who wants to get better photos of her kids or the hobbyist who’s never really learned the basics of photography. The workshop is going to be really fun and laid back, and I’ll do my best to teach you things like ISO, apetures, and f/stops, composition, and lighting. There will be discussion time, as well as time for shooting and one on one questions. There will be a meal and drinks included.
If you register by 1/15/11, you will get a $50 discount, so head over to the site now to find out more and to get signed up!
