Carrie + Steve [Wedding]

I have to admit being a little nervous prior to Steve and Carrie’s wedding. I’ve been shooting weddings for five years now, and I still get nervous before a wedding. I don’t even know why. Isn’t that weird? I guess it’s that realization of the fact that this is one of the greatest, most amazing days in a couple’s life, and they’ve trusted me to document it. That’s a lot of pressure! In a way I think that’s good though. I never want to get in the “routine” of weddings. I don’t want them to ever lose their specialness. So I guess in a way, I hope I’m always a little nervous. But I digress…

For some reason I was really having trouble shaking the nerves that day. But I’ve gotta tell ya… as soon as I arrived, I felt right at home. Carrie and her family were so laid back, sweet, and gracious, that I was instantly at ease. I love that. I immediately loved Carrie and her beautiful smile and the way that she carried herself. When we arrived at Pearl Stable and I met Steve, I could tell that these two were an amazing couple. They opted to see each other before the ceremony to do a “First Look” session, and it was so sweet. As Steve stood with his back to the door waiting for Carrie to enter, we talked, and I could see in his nervous smile just how much he adored her. Seeing both of their faces when they saw each other for the first time was magical. I loved being a part of their wedding and getting to see a glimpse of the deep love they have for each other. It’s so amazing to be a part of their family’s history and to know that no matter how much they loved each other on that day, as time goes on their love will grow deeper and wider and more all-encompassing than they could ever dream. That’s a great thing to be a part of. I love my job!

OneWed.com [Wedding Resource]

I always like finding and sharing new resources for brides, and just re-discovered OneWed.com. They just recently re-vamped their whole site and it is now a really helpful resource. My favorite feature is that you can read reviews by other wedding couples. As a consumer I’m a huge fan of sites that have actual customer reviews… just ask my husband. It annoys him greatly. Ha ha! Anyway, if you’re in the midst of planning your wedding, check it out. AND if you’re a former bride, feel free to stop by and leave reviews for your favorite vendors.

2010 Brides’ Choice Award!!

When I sat down to check my e-mail this afternoon, the last thing I expected was to find that I had received an award. Of any kind. In fact, when I saw the header “You’ve Been Selected…” I almost deleted it. Thankfully, I didn’t, and I found out that I’ve received the 2010 Brides’ Choice Award from WeddingWire.com! I can’t say thank you enough to both my totally amazing brides and to WeddingWire for such an honor! Read more about it here!

Last week I walked out to my mailbox to find the newest edition of San Antonio Weddings Magazine. I was giddy with excitement (because there are truly few things in the world I enjoy more than sitting down with a good magazine). I ran inside and plopped myself down on the couch and began flipping through it, reading articles here and there, when all of the sudden — I saw my name!!! Whaaaat?!

Thank you so much to the awesome folks at San Antonio Weddings for including me in such an amazing publication! I’m honored!

I am addicted to blogs. I could sit in front of my computer nearly all day going from blog to blog. It’s a problem I have. There are just so many great blogs out there, though, packed with all sorts of inspiration, information, ideas, and resources I can’t help myself! WeddingWire.com – A Resource for the Bride & Groom

I have just recently discovered a really cool resource for couples planning their wedding. It’s called WeddingWire, and it offers a ton of cool services and resources including ideas, organization tools, and information and reviews for wedding vendors of all kinds! Every time I browse their site, I discover something new, and it doesn’t seem to be overcrowded with information like a lot of other wedding sites, which I like. Anyway, if you’re getting married, check it out. AND, if you’re already married and you want to help out by reviewing my services as well as your other vendors, WeddingWire is offering a free gift once you’ve reviewed 5 vendors!
