Becky – Senior Portraits

Posted on April 7, 2009

funny, colorful, crazy, dancer, glittery

Those were Becky’s five words that she chose to describe her style and personality. After a little more conversation, I discovered that she loved flowers and nature, so we decided to start out at the Botanical Gardens. We had a great time talking and getting to know each other as we walked around their beautiful grounds (my favorite is their Hill Country area with the wildflowers and rustic cabins!). After that, we decided a change of scenery would be nice and we headed down the road for pictures that would reflect a different side of Becky. Once again, I had a great time! Senior portraits are so fun because seniors (especially the girls) are up for anything! Here are some of my favorite shots from the day…

Rebekah – Senior Portraits

Posted on April 4, 2009

Rebekah and I had been planning her portraits for a while, and finally, the big day arrived. As I walked outside to go to my car, I realized… it was raining. I called her and suggested that we might reschedule. Can we do it anyway? she asked. Hmm… I wondered to myself, maybe we could! So we ventured out, umbrellas in tow, and we ended up having a lot of fun! When it was all said and done, it even stopped raining! The cloud cover actually made for beautiful lighting, and I couldn’t get enough of Rebekah’s gorgeous skin tone! It’s just perfect in every picture! Thanks, Bekah, for a great photo shoot and for braving the elements!

80's Photo Shoot

Posted on February 4, 2009

I have the privilege of leading a small group at our church of the most awesome high school girls EVER! I am always challenged and inspired by their faith and the way they live their lives… and they’re fun and beautiful too! We try to get together once a month or so to do something outside of church and hang out and this month, we decided to do an 80’s photo shoot. We had SO MUCH FUN this past Saturday getting all decked out and taking pictures all afternoon! I love HS girls because they are fearless and confident and they are up for anything!

Happy New Year!

Posted on January 1, 2009

Hello friends! I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have been conspicuously absent from the blog lately, due mostly to the fact that the months of November and December were overwhelmingly busy, which I am actually very grateful for! I love that so many of you come to me this time of year (and all year round) to capture your precious families and those special moments. I’ve said it before, but I LOVE my job!

I have a few matters of business to start off the new year:

1) Take advantage of 2008 prices while you still can! Effective January 31st, our prices (both wedding and portraits) will be going up. Book your wedding or portrait session (by sending in your contract + deposit) during the month of January to lock in these prices!

2) 2009 Seniors! I am currently looking for a few senior SpokesModels for the Class of 2009. To be chosen as a SpokesModel you must be fun and very energetic member of the Class of 2009 that loves to have their picture taken. SpokesModels will receive a free studio session. After the session we will produce a sample book to share with your friends plus a stack of referral cards. Every time somebody returns one of your referral cards you get a credit for free prints from your session. To apply, use the contact form on the website and submit the following:
- Name
- A photo of yourself
- School
- MySpace or Facebook page (if applicable)
- Describe yourself using 5 different words (i.e. urban, colorful, outgoing, creative, classic)

3) Lots of blog updates to come. I’m SO behind on blogging my weddings and portrait sessions, but rest assured that little by little, I’ll get them all posted. :)

Thanks!
Breanna

Holiday Portrait Event – Marianne

Posted on November 20, 2008

I came to San Antonio the summer of 2001 to be an intern for the youth pastor at our church. I had a blast that summer getting to know the students in our ministry, and one of the very first girls I met was Marianne. We hung out a lot that summer and throughout the next few years (because clearly I decided to stick around). I many memories hanging out with Marianne and her younger sister, Liz (and for some reason almost all of those memories seem to include Sonic! Mmm… Strawberry Limeade!) and now Marianne is getting ready to graduate from COLLEGE. I’m starting to feel old.

I was excited when Marianne called and asked to be a part of this year’s Holiday Portrait Event so that she could have some [college] senior portraits for her graduation announcements. Marianne, I’m sad we don’t get to hang out more often, but I had a blast hanging out with you last Saturday! Let’s try and hang out again before another year is up! :)

This is one of my favorite images from Marianne’s session. 400 pixels doesn’t do it justice.

The Holidays!

Posted on November 13, 2008

This is the first year we’ve offered press printed holiday cards and I’m so excited! In the past, photo cards have been printed on photo paper and, more often than not, were kinda cheesy. Now there is an awesome alternative! There are several different sizes and paper types available, ranging from $2-4 each, so order yours soon!

Here are some of the designs that you can choose from, and I’m working on putting together some other simpler, modern designs too! The designs below are for 5×5 or 5×7 flat cards, but they can be modified and we can create an inside design too if you are wanting folded cards. Let me know if you’ve got questions!

Dana & Ashley – Senior Portraits

Posted on November 13, 2008

Dana and Ashley are another awesome pair of friends that also wanted to do their senior portraits together, so last week (or was it the week before), we headed out to Mission San Jose for some relaxed portraits. It was super hot outside, but these girls were troopers. They are both so sweet and I loved getting to hang out with them!

Lauren & Brittany – Senior Portraits

Posted on November 11, 2008

Lauren & Brittany the best of friends and they are inseparable. They are always side by side, laughing, talking, singing. You do not want to sleep in the bunk under these two at youth camp if sleep is at all a desirable thing to you :) (You know I love you, girls!) They are both funny and amazingly beautiful inside and out. Anyone who knows these girls is not surprised that they just had to do their senior portraits together, and I, of course, was honored when they asked me to do it! We finally got our crazy schedules to match up a couple weeks ago, and had a great time taking pictures. They wanted somewhere that was pretty, with flowers, water and cool rock walls, so we went out to the Japanese Tea Gardens and found just that.

The real Lauren & Brittany :)

Saturday, I had the awesome opportunity to hang out with Lindzy for a couple hours as she and I drove around looking for cool places to take her senior portraits. She is so sweet and super photogenic, and we had an awesome time!
