Adam + Mollie [Engagement Portraits]

I love Saturday mornings. Saturdays just feel different than any other day of the week. They feel happy, relaxed, bright, comfortable, and free. Adam and Mollie’s engagement session just felt like Saturday. Does that even make sense? We spent the morning, walking and talking, the two of them hand in hand. There was no hurrying, no major agenda… just enjoying life (and documenting it with my camera, of course). I’ve said it before (and I’ll say it many times again), I love my job. It’s worth getting up on Saturdays for days like that. Capturing moments, seeing such love… it can’t be beat.

Laura + Gus [Engagement Portraits]

I really love engagement sessions. It’s such a cool opportunity for me to get to know couples before the happy chaos of the big day (and for them to get to know me). It’s so great just being able to talk and laugh together, and even more, it offers me a little glimpse into each couple’s story, personality, and style. Last week, I got together with Laura and Gus for their engagement portraits, and they rocked it out. You can tell they share a love that is sweet and special (I can tell by the way he looks at her when she’s not looking, and by the way she smiles when he talks). Oh, and they’re really fun and laid back, too!

Laura and Gus, thanks for a great session, and I’m looking forward to your wedding in March!

Erika + Wade [San Antonio Engagement Portraits]

Erika and Wade are an amazing couple. In the two hours we spent together this morning, I could tell that they are best friends, that they’re super fun, and that Wade just adores her. They met in college almost seven years ago through a friend, and they’ve been crazy in love ever since. And it shows.

Derek + Amber [Helotes Engagement Portraits]

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend! I know I am. I started off the morning in Helotes with our good friends Derek and Amber (who will be getting married next month!!) so we could shoot their engagement portraits. We had a great time (they’re such a fun couple), and as we were finishing up, Helotes Marketplace was getting going so Aaron and the kids met us there to walk around, check out the vendors and the BBQ competition, and then when we were sufficiently drenched with sweat (why do we live in Texas again?!), we all parted ways and I spent the rest of the day with the fam driving through the Hill Country, listening to good music, and enjoying life. I am so thankful for days like today.

Dana + Luke [Seguin Engagement Portraits]

Can I just say that I love Dana and Luke? I mean really, they’re the cutest, sweetest, coolest couple. A few weeks ago we met out at the family lakehouse for their engagement portraits. Not only was it beautiful out there, but it also happens to be where Luke proposed! I so enjoyed getting to know them both, and can’t wait for the wedding! Here are a few of my favorites!

We met out at Bracken Village a couple of weeks ago for their portraits and from the moment we began, there were tons of laughs! These two have so much fun together, and it’s contagious. Marie + Brendon [Denton Engagement Portraits]

I met Marie and Brendon over the summer and immediately knew that I liked them. They’re really laid back and you can tell that they are crazy in love… and she studies Art at UNT. (I love Art.) From the moment I arrived in Denton, we had a great time. From the balloons, to fitting the balloons in the car, and the fact that it was the windiest day in a hundred years. It was a super fun shoot, and I have a million shots I’d love to share, but here are just a few of my favs.

Marie and Brendon, thanks for making this session so fun… and for being so patient waiting for me to get these up! Looking forward to your wedding at The Vineyards this spring!

Cierra + Jeremie [Gruene Engagement Portraits]

When I met Cierra and Jeremie the other day for their engagement portraits, I immediately knew that I liked them. We met in Gruene on what turned out to be one of the first “cool” fall days. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful town, and only moments into our session, I could tell that these two shared a special — and yes, beautiful — love. They’ve been together since high school, but they are still very much in love. You can tell by the way people look at and interact with each other — genuine love cannot be faked.

Cierra and Jeremie, I loved meeting you and getting to spend time getting to know you! I can’t wait to be part of your wedding!

Joey + Jessica [Engagement Portraits]

Fair warning… I’m going to go old woman on you for a moment. I cannot believe that my cousin Jessica is old enough to get married! I (distinctly) remember when she was born! *sigh* When I was a kid, I remember I had this picture that my mom had taken of me holding Jessica when she was a tiny baby. I was so proud of that picture and the fact that I had gotten to hold such a pretty little girl. (I’m starting to see this pride and excitement in my own daughter now, who LOVES babies!) I kept that picture with a select few other special photos in my Trapper Keeper for the longest time. (Yeah that’s right, I was so cool!) I thought she was one of the cutest babies ever.

She’s still adorable (drop dead gorgeous, rather) and I’m so happy for her and Joey! They are totally crazy about eachother and they seem to have an awesome relationship. I’m so excited to be a part of their wedding in June! Here are a few previews from the weekend’s engagement session…
