Baby Andre

I don’t put personal stuff on here much, but I wanted to share the newest member of our family. This is my adorable new nephew, Andre. Isn’t he precious?! I was so thrilled when my sister called me last week to tell me that she was headed to the hospital. The kids and I packed up and went to meet him. Even though I’m not that far removed from having babies of my own, I was just amazed at how tiny and sweet and precious newborns are. Love it! Here are a few images. I’m hoping to go back and get some newborn portraits of him.

Joey + Jessica [Engagement Portraits]

Fair warning… I’m going to go old woman on you for a moment. I cannot believe that my cousin Jessica is old enough to get married! I (distinctly) remember when she was born! *sigh* When I was a kid, I remember I had this picture that my mom had taken of me holding Jessica when she was a tiny baby. I was so proud of that picture and the fact that I had gotten to hold such a pretty little girl. (I’m starting to see this pride and excitement in my own daughter now, who LOVES babies!) I kept that picture with a select few other special photos in my Trapper Keeper for the longest time. (Yeah that’s right, I was so cool!) I thought she was one of the cutest babies ever.

She’s still adorable (drop dead gorgeous, rather) and I’m so happy for her and Joey! They are totally crazy about eachother and they seem to have an awesome relationship. I’m so excited to be a part of their wedding in June! Here are a few previews from the weekend’s engagement session…

Kathryn [Senior Portraits]

Over spring break, I had the opportunity to work with Kathryn. We had a really fun laid back morning. We started at the Tea Gardens and we got to talking and I found out that she worked at the Kiddie Park off Broadway — a place I have never been, yet have always been fascinated by. It didn’t take long for us to decide that we wanted to shoot some of her senior portraits there too. I loved the colors and the feel of it. It was a blast! Here are some previews…

Jacob + Jill [Engagement Portraits]

I’ve known Jacob since… well, since he was born. Our moms are cousins, but more like sisters. They grew up together and I’ve heard many stories of their adventures as kids, teens, and newlyweds. As kids I remember our families visiting each other now and again, and every year on the 4th of July, they’d come spend the day with us, eating and shooting fireworks. We had a lot of good times.

Now we’re all grown up and Jacob is getting married this summer (as is his sister Jessica… you’ll be seeing them both a lot over the next few months), and I’m so happy to be a part of this stage in their life too. The other day, I was talking (or was it e-mail) to Jacob’s mom and she told me, “You’re just going to love Jill. She is so great!”

And it’s true.

I had so much fun shooting Jacob and Jill’s engagement portraits! I’m flattered that they’d drive all the way from Dallas to San Antonio and back all in one day just so I could take their pictures! I’m honored. And a special thanks goes out to my mom, who happened to be in town and came along as my “assistant”. Here are a few previews from their session!

Laura + Gabe [Engagement Portraits]

I have loved getting to know Laura and Gabe over the last several months. Every time Laura and I get together, there’s much laughter and great conversation. The very first time I met her, she just gushed about Gabe… about what an amazing guy he was, about his passion for Mississippi State football, about his dog, the things they do when they’re together, and on and on. I could tell she was head over heels for him. When I had the chance to meet Gabe, I could tell that this love was not one-sided. He is every bit as much in love with her. Seeing love like that never gets old. That’s why I love my job. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in October and to watch their love grow even deeper over the coming months and years!
