John & Erin – Wedding

Posted on September 29, 2008

Erin was a bridesmaid at Allison & Chris’s wedding in January, so I was thrilled when she called me up and asked me to photograph her wedding on September 5th! Their wedding was at the beautiful Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin, and it was a very elegant and fun affair! What stood out to me the most is the love that this couple shares and the way that Erin just glows. I was also amazed at how much love their was within their families, and how much they all meant to each other. It was very cool to see. Congratulations, Erin & John! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your beautiful wedding.

Here’s Erin hamming it up for the camera :)

Great entertainment from Jazz, Blues, and Diamonds

Stay tuned for a wedding slideshow!

Thanks to Emily, who expertly coordinated this amazing wedding at The (very gorgeous) Driskill Hotel in Austin, and to Jazz, Blues, and Diamonds, who provided wonderful entertainment at the reception!

Welcome, Reagan!

I’ve got several other portraits and a wedding or two to post (they’re coming soon, I promise!), but I just had to show off my new niece, Reagan Elizabeth, who was born yesterday. She is healthy and gorgeous, and she has a family who already totally adores her. We love you baby girl!

I'm Back!

Posted on September 24, 2008

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I am back in the office after a LONG weekend. My little sister got married on Saturday, so I’ve been out of town and then spending time with my parents and my adorable niece (below). It’s been an awesome time, but I’m back now and will be responding promptly to all of the e-mails and calls. Thanks for your patience!

Why are kids so drawn to play in the dirt?

Congratulations, Isabel!

You might remember Isabel as the adorable baby from one of my shoots last month. Well, she was entered into Mix 96.1’s San Antonio’s Most Beautiful Baby Contest and won 2nd Place!!! Congratulations, Isabel!

NEW! Guest Books

Posted on September 17, 2008

Let’s take a poll… how many of you married folks had a guest book at your wedding? Everyone? Okay, how many of you have actually looked at your guest book since your wedding day? Do you even know where it is?! I know I don’t have a clue where mine is, and you know what… it’s not that important to me, because all I am going to find when I find my guest book is a list of names. Names that matter to me, but its a list, all the same. On white lined paper in a plain white book. Well things are about to change!

We’re helping the Guest Book to become a keepsake that matters. A hard back book customized with pictures from your bridal or engagement session (or we can even scan in pictures from your childhood!) that your guests can write in. There are not lines or strict formats, just pages full of space for your guests to write a meaningful note or a funny memory. This is a priceless keepsake from your wedding that you can look at again and again for years to come.

Valerie – Bridal Portraits 1

Posted on September 17, 2008

My sister is getting married this weekend (yaaay!), and it’s sad how hard it’s been to get our schedules together so we could shoot some bridal portraits. So Saturday she called me and said that her work was closing because of the hurricane and she wanted to come and shoot a few portraits. SO, by the time she got here and we got all ready, we only had a very short while to take pictures, but we got a few. We decided we’re going to try again on Friday (talk about last-minute!) to try and get THE shot in the lighting we like, but here are a few we were able to get that I liked. I had fun, sister, and can’t wait til this weekend!

Love, Bre

Amber – Senior Portraits

Posted on September 13, 2008

I’ve had the privilege of getting to know Amber over the past year or so, and I kind of think of her as a rock star. I think its the combination of her rock star hair cut, and the fact that every time she gets in my car, she cranks up the radio and just rocks out. I like that about her. We had a great time yesterday with session one of her senior portraits. She just seemed so confident and she just knew what to do in front of the camera. A photographer’s dream! Thank you, Amber, for always loving and spending time with my kids, for your text messages, fun, and for your honesty. Hope your senior year is amazing!

The Newcom Family – Portraits

Posted on September 12, 2008

I spent last Saturday morning with the wonderful and amazing Newcom family. It was a beautiful morning and we headed out to a nearby park for some long anticipated family portraits. We had a great time (at least I did!), even though it was hard at times to get everyone to stay in the same place for very long (see below!). Hey, who would want to sit still while at a PARK! There’s so much to see and do! :) After a while, we headed back to their house, where everyone was much more comfortable. I just wanted to post a few of my favorites so far.

If you know the Newcom’s, I’m sure you’ve seen this before!

So I haven’t really even gotten to the pictures of the entire family yet, but as I was quickly flipping through, this little outtake made me laugh out loud! I can totally relate!

Being Two…

Posted on September 12, 2008

has got to be wonderful! You can walk around without pants, wear your shoes on the wrong feet, put on crazy hats, and be totally carefree. Life is good when you are two.

When I saw my son and nephew playing in the back yard a little while ago, I just had to grab the point and shoot to capture this moment!
